1. Information we collect

We collect the information you choose to provide when making an enquiry or arranging tutoring. This information may relate to a parent or guardian, a school-age student or an adult learner contacting Elevate directly.

• Contact information: Name, email address and optional phone number.
• Tutoring information: Student level, subject, preferred contact time, plan of interest and any notes you include.
• Communications: Information shared in later emails, phone calls, messages or session arrangements.
• Basic technical information: The contact form temporarily processes connection information to help limit repeated spam submissions.

2. How we use information

We use enquiry information to respond to you, understand the support requested, discuss tutor availability, arrange sessions and manage an ongoing tutoring relationship.

We may also use aggregated, non-identifying information to understand which subjects and levels are most frequently requested.

3. Legal bases

Under UK data protection law, our legal bases for processing information may include your consent; taking steps you request before entering into a tutoring agreement; performing a contract after tutoring is booked; and our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the service.

4. Service providers and sharing

Elevate does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that support website hosting, email delivery and communications, including WhatsApp and Google Meet when those channels are used for consultations or lessons.

When additional subject tutors are needed, Elevate selectively hires from a network of tutors at the University of Bristol, Imperial College London and the University of Oxford and confirms the proposed tutor with the family before booking. If an additional tutor is proposed, only the information needed to assess the match will be shared. Direct contact details will be shared only after the family has agreed to the proposed arrangement.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law or a valid request from a public authority.

5. Security and retention

Reasonable technical and organisational steps are used to protect enquiry information and restrict access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

Information is kept only as long as needed for the enquiry, tutoring relationship and any legal, accounting or safeguarding requirements. Enquiries that do not proceed are normally deleted after 12 months unless there is a valid reason to retain them.

6. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your personal information, or object to its use. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis for processing.

You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your data protection rights have not been respected.
